Hexo
Highlights
Packaging design, Marketing collateral, Motion graphics, Digital + social ads, In-store displays
I worked in-house as a graphic designer at Hexo, a Canadian cannabis brand with a diverse product lineup including dried flower, pre-rolls, vapes, and beverages. Along with Hexo’s core products, I also supported creative work for its family of brands, including Up Cannabis and 48 North.
My Role
I created packaging and supporting materials that balanced creativity with regulatory compliance. This included compliant product labels, flower jars, and vape packaging, as well as collateral such as spec sheets, sell sheets, and tent cards. Each brand under the Hexo name had its own identity, and part of my role was to ensure those differences came through while still maintaining an overall sense of cohesion.
Marketing +
Sales Materials
Product launches were fast-paced and required a wide range of creative support. I designed coordinated launch kits that included digital banners, social graphics, motion assets, and in-store displays. These materials introduced new strains, beverages, and pre-rolls while highlighting what made each unique. Working across multiple brands meant adapting visuals to match each brand’s tone — from the approachable personality of Original Stash to the premium look of Up Cannabis.
Motion Graphics & Digital Ads
To extend campaigns into digital spaces, I produced animated assets for retail screens, social ads, and web banners. Motion design allowed each brand to stand out, adding energy and personality to campaigns in a way that static visuals couldn’t always achieve.
Supporting Multiple Brands
While at Hexo, I also contributed to design work for its sub-brands. Each carried a distinct identity and audience, and my role was to adapt packaging, collateral, and campaign assets to match their tone while still keeping a connection to the Hexo family.
Up Cannabis positioned itself as a premium, lifestyle-oriented brand. My design work supported this positioning through clean, elevated packaging and collateral that emphasized quality and refinement, appealing to a more discerning audience.
48North was known for its innovative, wellness-focused approach to cannabis. My work contributed to packaging and promotional assets that highlighted the brand’s emphasis on natural products, modern design, and an inclusive, forward-thinking identity.
High quality. Quality product.
High quality. Quality product.
Although Hexo is no longer in operation, my work contributed to multiple successful product launches across its portfolio of brands. I helped ensure a cohesive experience across packaging, retail, and digital channels, while giving sales and marketing teams the tools they needed to promote products effectively. Supporting multiple brands under one parent company gave me valuable experience in managing different identities within a unified system — a skill I continue to bring to my design practice today.
