Branding

Highlights

Logo design, Brand development, Calligraphy, Typography

One of the pillars in graphic design, effective branding is vitalIto succeed and stand out amongst others. Logo creation and how that translates as a fully realized brand is one of my favourite aspects of design, dating back to me sketching logos for fictional car companies as a child.

Mississippi Mills

To commemorate 200 years since its creation in Lanark County, my role at Xquisit was to create a logo and accompanying branding to highlight Mississippi Mills’ history and legacy. This logo concept takes inspiration from the shapes in the original Mississippi logo, the theme of connectivity, and the Mississippi river itself flowing through the town. The bicentennial branding was displayed on street banners, printed clothing, and custom made coins.

Mexican-Canadian fashion designer was my client while I was working at the agency Haryco in Montreal, with his shop located directly adjacent to our studio. Drawing heavy inspiration from his Mexican heritage, Antonio wanted a prominent animal symbol to represent his personality and connection with nature. His first choice was a leopard, which exudes strength, sensuality and grandeur. My role was to sketch, concept and ultimately finalize this symbol for Antonio to use on multiple applications including packaging, storefront designs and clothing accessories.

CNA Annual Conference Identity

in 2023, the Canadian Nuclear Association hosted their annual conference to bring the brightest minds in the nuclear energy sector to discuss the industry’s future, potential barriers and the role Canada has as a global leader in nuclear technology. For the year of 2023, my goal at Xquisit was to illustrate this global leadership combined with a stylized symbol for nuclear energy. Using an abstract approach, the CNA2023 logo shows dynamism and movement, similar to how constant the industry is changing and evolving.

Going beyond the ordinary

I’ve had the pleasure of designing for a variety of clients including real estate agents, drag artists, carpenters, fitness coaches and bands. These opportunities showcase my proficiency in calligraphy and typographic wordmarks alongside the objective to bring the client’s vision and personality to life.

Give me a holler.
